Welcome to the Jazz Academy on the North Sea...
The Jazz Academy on the North Sea is supported by the district of Friesland, the city of Jever, the NDR Music Fund and the Oldenburgische Landschaft.
As every year, the organizing team has enlisted pianist Klaus Ignatzek, who has been a leading figure in the European jazz scene for decades, to assume the artistic direction.
In our district town of Jever, ambitious jazz amateurs and semi-professional jazz musicians meet to practice together, rehearse, form ensembles and take lessons individually and in various formations.
Under his leadership, a team of outstanding, internationally renowned musicians has once again come together to teach the instruments of the classic jazz quintet: piano, bass, drums, wind instruments and vocals.
Our venues, with their stages and rehearsal rooms and diverse catering options, offer the best conditions for lessons and rehearsals as well as jam sessions and concerts.
