 FLORIAN TRÜBSBACH  /  SAXOPHON    (JEVER)

Florian Trübsbach was fortunate enough to perform as a soloist with the Tölzer Knabenchor at a young age, performing alongside luminaries such as Herbert von Karajan, Claudio Abbado, and Lorin Maazel. After his voice broke, he took composition lessons from Hans Werner Henze. A chance encounter with a Dizzy Gillespie concert ignited his passion for jazz, which hasn't abated to this day. He traded his violin for the saxophone. After graduating from high school, Trübsbach completed his jazz studies in Munich, which he had begun during his school years, and was awarded the Bavarian State Prize for Young Artists. He continued his composition studies in Hamburg before settling in Berlin.

Trübsbach has performed with various projects of his own, as well as with ensembles and musicians from a wide range of genres, including Bill Holman, Joe Lovano, the Stuttgart Chamber Orchestra, and the "Fantastischen 4," and has made radio and CD recordings. Concert tours have taken him to Syria and Siberia, South Africa, Japan, and China, among other places. When he's not performing, you can find him in his beloved mountains, a smoky pipe in his backpack—because you can't live without music.
